Hitman goes fully episodic

January 15, 2016
The upcoming Hitman was originally announced as a two-fold release, with the first chunk of the game coming in March packed with six missions, followed by another pack of missions and sandbox locales later down the line. Now it turns out that the game will be more episodic, with new missions coming out separately each month. The game will launch on March 11th with the prologue and the Paris mission.

"The big change is that the next location, set in Italy, will now release in April and then Morocco will release in May," wrote the developers IO on the official site.

"From there we will keep monthly content updates coming, including the three additional locations we have already announced; Thailand, the US and Japan until the season concludes in Japan later in 2016. The weekly live events and additional planned content will give you plenty to do in the time between location releases."

The game will be available as an up front purchase for $60, or as separate chunks, starting with the Intro Pack for $15 and the the episodes for $10. Hitman will also get a regular disc based launch once all the episodes are released in late 2016.

You can find more details about these changes on the game's site.
